Intense Tropical Cyclone "Enawo", the third strongest cyclone to hit Madagascar, made landfall between Sambava and Antalaha (North east) on March 7, 2017. According to the Bureau national de gestion des risques et des catastrophes (BNGRC) on its official March 14, 2017 report, at least 78 people have been killed, 250 injured and 400 000 affected among whom 250 000 displaced.Towns and cities were flooded, houses, schools, hospitals and critical infrastructure destroyed. Water and power outages are widespread in affected areas.
